Greek defense minister comes to Moldova

The Minister of National Defense of Greece Dimitris Avramopoulos will pay an official visit to Moldova on February 10 and 11, at the invitation of his Moldovan counterpart Vitalie Marinuta, IPN has learned from the Ministry of Defense.

The discussions will focus on the bilateral relations between the Moldovan and Greek armies and the possibility of starting new cooperation projects in the military sphere. The ministers will exchange opinions on the regional and international security.

Dimitris Avramopoulos will have bilateral meetings with the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forced, President Nicolae Timofti, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca, and Head of Parliament Igor Corman.

The bilateral cooperation between the defense ministries of Moldova and Greece is developed based on an agreement signed in Athens in September 2003.
