Greece offers 300,000 euros for children hospital in Moldova

The Greek Government offers 300,000 euros (over 4 million lei) for renewing hospital 1 for children in Chisinau. The cheque was handed on Friday, January 30, by Greek deputy foreign minister Yannis Valinakis, who had a meeting with minister for foreign affairs and European integration Andrei Stratan. The Greek official stated that this gesture confirms a high level of bilateral relations between the two states. Andrei Stratan and health minister Larisa Catrinici thanked the Greek Government, emphasizing the importance of this support for renewing the medical institution. Yannis Valinakis also mentioned the need to strengthen the bilateral relations Moldova-UE, saying that the country is in favor of expanding EU and he supports the European aspirations of Moldova. A visit of Greek foreign minister to Chisinau is scheduled for this year. Greece is the country that will hold the OSCE presidency. Yannis Valinakis is in Chisinau to participate in an informal ministerial reunion of SEECP, that unfolds on Friday.
