The youth nongovernmental organizations of Moldova can compete for grants to the value of 10,000 lei within a program that was launched by the Ministry of Youth and Sport on March 26. Minister Serghei Afanasenko told a news conference that priority will be given to projects that will contribute to implementing the national youth policies designed for 2015-2020, IPN reports.

The head of the Ministry’s Youth Programs Division Ion Donea said it is important that the project proposals should reflect the national youth policies planned for the next few years. The initiatives must be implemented by young people or with the participation of young people. Each project should be accompanied by letters of support from partners, either local public authorities or other donors. The contest is open to youth organizations possessing co-financing and to those that can contribute at least 20% of the project’s value.

The activities that will be financed within the program include debates, consultations, campaigns, congresses, conferences, experience exchanges, participation in international events, official meetings, seminars, training courses, forums, contests, designing of websites and creation of communication networks, radio and TV programs and other similar events intended for the youth sector.

The projects in printed form must be submitted to the Ministry by April 17, 4pm.

This is the fourth grants program of the kind. This year the program’s budget is 3.5 million lei. In 2011 – 2014, grants to the value of 12 million lei were offered to 78 public associations.
