UNDP Moldova, in partnership with the Ministry of Energy, offers grants of US$100,000 for piloting the first renewable energy communities. The contest is part of the project "Resilient Communities through Women Empowerment", IPN reports.

Through this call for grants, UNDP Moldova aims to select two civil society organizations whose mission will be to pilot the concept of energy communities.

The two selected organizations will carry out information and awareness-raising campaigns to promote the benefits of renewable energy communities and the stages of their creation. Also, training sessions on the legal framework, forms of association and management of energy from renewable sources will be staged.

Subsequently, each NGO will select a pilot community, which will benefit from the expertise and mentoring necessary for the creation and registration of the renewable energy community, outfitting with the necessary equipment and designing of documents for operationalization.

The implementation period of the project is 18 months. The deadline for submissions is February 5.
