Parliament ratified the agreement for financing the Inclusive Rural Economic and Climate Resilience Program between Moldova and the International Fund for Agricultural Development. Under the agreement, Moldova will receive a grant of over 28 million Danish kroner (about US$5.2 million), IPN reports.
Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Ion Sula said the grant will be used to finance about 400 projects of young entrepreneurs working in the agricultural sector, especially in rural areas, and to create at least 600 new jobs.
The farmers will receive 40% of the project’s budget as a grant, while the other 60% will represent their own contribution. The women entrepreneurs will be given priority within the project.
