The price of the grain the state will procure from farmers has not yet been established. “We'll consider a range of factors and will recommend the Government to propose an advantageous price for farmers,” says Agriculture Minister Anatolie Gorodenco, Info-prim Neo reports. According to him, the price will be established depending on the price on the local market – 2.30- 2.69 lei/kg, on the price on regional commodities markets, and on other factors. The Government is to buy, for its state reserve, some 70,000 tonnes of wheat, plus the quantity given to some bakeries to diminish the consequences of the last summer drought. The government agreed with fuel retailers to offer diesel fuel with 1.30 lei/liter less to farmers. Also, some 25 % of the fuel needed for the harvesting campaign was bought by the state-run Moldresurse and is offered “at reasonable prices” to farmers. The Minister says he agreed with procuring companies to give money to farmers before the reaping starts. The Government proposed the Parliament to allow to allocate 60,000 lei more to the Farmers Support Fund to return the Value Added Tax to the farmers using fertilizers and phytochemicals, and to farmers selling on the domestic market. Up to now, 173 million lei has been used from those 270 million in the Fund. In Anatolie Gorodenco's, opinion all these measures will allow for unfolding an efficient harvesting campaign within just 25 days, as the reaping has been delayed by the rains.
