The Moldovan Cabinet rejected a legislative initiative by MP Vlad Filat on exempting from property tax and land tax the entities stricken by last summer floods, for a period of two years, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Cabinet’s note to the bill specifies that it is the local authorities which are entitled to exempt entities from those taxes. The amount of damages is established by special commissions working according to a mechanism established by the Government. The Cabinet points out it endorsed a modification to the Fiscal Code pursuing to support citizens whose property was damaged by floods. The draft also allows to deduct the expenses related to repairing entities’ real estate.
