Govt. forecasts 6% economic growth in 2009 – 2011

In 2009 – 2011, the Moldovan Government forecasts a growth of the GDP of 6% annually, Info-Prim Neo reports. This growth is provided for in a document called theh Frame of Middle-Term Expenditures for the next three years, which was approved by the Cabinet. As Finance Minister Mariana Durlesteanu specified the Gross Domestic Product will arrive to be 79.5 billion lei in 2009, 77.5 billion in 2010 and 85.1 billion lei in 2011, while the GDP in 2008 is assessed at 62.7 billion lei. The inflation is forecast to drop from 9.5 % in 2009, to 7% in 2010 and to 6% in 2011. In 2008 it is estimated to be 11.5%, or less. The forecast exchange rate will be 9.12 lei per $1 in 2009 and 8.8 lei per $1 in 2011. The exports in the following three years are forecast to grow 45%, reaching $2.6 billion in 2011 compared to 1.72 billion in 2008 . The trade deficit is expected to $5.55 billion in 2011, compared to $5.53 billion in 2008. The Government plans to raise the average monthly salary from 2,630 lei estimated for 2008 to 3,140 lei (+19%) in 2009, 3,600 lei (+15%) in 2010 and 4,100 lei (+14%) in 2011. But actually this means the salary will rise 9%, 6% and 7% from 2009 to 2011. These indices have been taken into account in drafting the National Public Budget for 2009.
