Govt decides measures to develop light industry till 2015

The Government approves a program on developing the light industry till 2015. The document establishes instruments and tools to be implemented within this period, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Attaining the objectives of the program shall contribute to the qualitative development of the light industry, to enhancing the people's welfare and to diminish migration,” said Sergiu Sainciuc, a deputy minister for economy and trade. “Since the light industry is a strategical sector for the country, finances from the state budget and other sources will be needed to implement certain items from the Action Plan, especially related to training personnel,” Sainciuc added. According to him, the first stage of implementing the project, from 2008 to 2010, incurs no costs. The industry developing strategy provides for a 12-percent growing pace of the output. At the same time, official statistics point out the light industry is slowing down since the beginning of 2009.
