The governor of Gagauz-Yeri autonomous region, Mihail Formuzal, will not support any political party in the local elections, but will ensure equal conditions to all the participants. Formuzal proposed the future electoral candidates to sign an Agreement on holding democratic, fair and transparent elections. Mihail Formuzal told Info-Prim Neo that he made an appeal to all potential candidates, regardless of the party they represent, urging them not to use in the campaign unfair methods, unverified publications, not to offend the opponents, and to fight honestly for the electoral victory. The governor said he was the first who signed the Agreement on holding fair elections, pledging not to interfere in the pre-election process. The document stipulates more conditions which are to be followed by electoral candidates. One of them is to ensure absolutely equal conditions to all the parties and electoral blocs, participating in the polls, including the access to mass-media, non-admittance of pressures or persecution of certain political parties. Other principles stipulate the creation of proper conditions for the independent activity of the Central Election Committee and electoral constituencies, exclusion of possibility of using administrative resources by the authorities, appeal to the international organisations, OSCE Mission to Moldova to send observers to ATU Gagauzia in order to monitor the elections. At the same time, the governor asserts that all the candidates will have the possibility to hold meetings with the voters in the houses of culture, paying only the public utilities. Concurrently, all the participants will have access to the local television. The local elections will be held in Moldova on June 3.
