The priority reform agenda promoted by the Government was discussed in the weekly meeting of the Democratic Party (PDM) on March 13. After the meeting, Prime Minister Pavel Filip, who is the first deputy chairman of the PDM, said the support of the parliamentary majority is needed for implementing the given agenda. That’s why this was discussed through the PDM’s platform, IPN reports.
Pavel Filip said he called on his colleagues in Parliament to discuss the reforms under implementation with the people and to explain their benefits when they make field visits. Though some of the projects are supported in Parliament, after the reforms are implemented, some of the colleagues, who declare they are in the opposition, criticize them and accuse the government. The Premier gave the pension system reform as example.
The social project “First House” is another subject to which Pavel Filip referred. This will be presented at the end of April, after it is consulted with the IMF. The initiative envisions the provision of support for purchasing homes, with the state acting as a guarantor in the lending process.
The Premier noted the meeting also centered on the promotion of suicide among minors through the Internet. He said that this is a very important subject and assured that the authorities are taking measures to prevent the spread of this phenomenon in Moldova.
