Government’s priorities discussed with Head of British Diplomatic Service

The registration of Transnistrian vehicles, their international circulation and the recognition of diplomas of higher education issued by the education institutions of Transnistria are some of the priorities set by the Government for this year. The settlement of the Transnistrian conflict and the implementation of reforms in the European integration process of Moldova were discussed in a meeting of Prime Minister Pavel Filip and the Permanent Under Secretary and Head of the Diplomatic Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the UK Simon McDonald, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, the Premier said that the Government is determined to continue to do reforms and to ensure stability in the country.  “We have a series of commitments assumed in concert with Moldova’s Parliament, which are aimed at increasing the welfare of the people and at reforming the main sectors, while the taken actions already produce palpable results,” stated Pavel Filip.

The sides also discussed the resolution of the Transnistrian issue and creation of good conditions for the people from this region. There was reiterated the Government’s position that the conflict must be settled exclusively by political ways, within the 5+2 format of the talks. In this connection, it was noted that the priorities set for this year refer to the registration of Transnistrian vehicles and their international circulation as well as the recognition of diplomas of higher education issued in Transnistria and ensuring of the interconnection of fixed line telephone networks.

Simon McDonald said the developments and reforms in Moldova are followed attentively by the international community, while the achieved results are appreciated.
