The joint meeting of the governments of Moldova and Romania will take place by the start of March, announced Romanian Foreign Minister Cristian Diaconescu, who is in Chisinau on a visit. In a news conference held in concert with his Moldovan counterpart, the Romanian official said this will be a signal of seriousness and substance in the special relations between the two states, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Together with the Government of Moldova, we will agree the way the common meeting of the two executives will be held. This meeting will be anticipated by a preparatory meeting, where there will be discussed the new political projects,” said Diaconescu. He referred to the projects to interconnect the energy systems and to modernize the infrastructure of the two countries by building access bridges over the Prut. Cristian Diaconescu assured that Romania will continue to provide technical assistance to Moldova in the European integration process. “We want these two projects to be implemented. We are now at the preparatory stage, but there are many things to be done yet, including as regards the gas supply, building of road and railway infrastructure,” said Moldova’s Foreign Minister Iurie Leanca. The two ministers said that a plan of action will be signed in the joint meeting of the two Governments. There will be discussed business coordination projects and projects to exchange experience in education and culture. Earlier, it was announced that the meeting will take place in November 2011, but it was postponed because the groups of experts still work on a series of sectoral projects.
