Chisinau in autumn will host a joint meeting of the Governments of Moldova and Romania. A number of bilateral meetings between ministers will be held until then to boost joint Moldovan–Romanian projects. The announcement was made in a joint news conference of the Moldovan and Romanian Premiers given on the occasion of the working visit paid by the Romanian Premier Mihai Tudose to Chisinau, IPN reports.

The Romanian official said that Romania remains Moldova’s advocate at international level and underlined that stability is needed for all the measures planned by the Governments of the two states to be implemented. He noted that the reforms done in the Republic of Moldova during the last two years started to produce results and Romania chose to be near and to continue to support the Moldovan Government so that this effort is not useless.

For his part, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said the working visit by the Romanian Premier shows Romania’s attitude to Moldova and points to the special relationship between Moldova and Romania as this is not a simple relationship between two neighboring states, being much more profound. He thanked for the support provided by Romania in different areas, noting that despite the statements of some Moldovan politicians, Moldova knows who its real friends are and which its real road is and this is the road to Europe and the values that define the EU area.

The Premier stated that the discussions with his Romanian counterpart covered the construction of the Iasi-Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline that the authorities hope to put into operations by the end of 2018. They also spoke about the first electric power interconnection network with Romania.
