The Prime Minister’s Office, the Bureau for Diaspora Relations and the International Organization for Migration Mission to Moldova have launched the governmental program “Excellence Groups of the Diaspora”. The program is intended for Moldovan citizens abroad and is aimed at creating a mechanism of cooperation between governmental institutions and highly-qualified diaspora experts from areas that are essential for Moldova’s development, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.

The members of the Excellence Groups of the Diaspora will be chosen based on CVs and public policy proposals for the five key areas. Each group will consist of two Moldovan experts abroad, who will work out and present public policy proposals/initiatives in concert with representatives of governmental institutions by August 2017.

Bureau for Diaspora Relations head Olga Coptu said the Republic of Moldova has citizens abroad who have valuable experience in different areas, expertise and knowledge. These can contribute to stimulating the development of the national public and private sectors by consultancy, recommendations and initiatives to improve services, by transfer of knowledge, creativity and innovation.

Chief of the International Organization for Migration Mission to Moldova Antonio Polosa stated that this program for the representatives of the diaspora is a chance to cooperate with high-ranking officials of the Premier’s Office for positively influencing the country’s development course by the diaspora’s know-how.

Those interested can submit the CV and a public policy proposal to the email address: diaspora.excellence@gov.md by May 23, 2017.
