After a 2 year pause, the governmental commission for the reintegration of the country will meet on Thursday, August 20, at the Government. The Bureau for Reintegration confirmed the information for IPN and said that the meeting will be headed by Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet.
The revitalization of the commission is meant to update the country's reintegration goals, to improve policy-making in this field and coordination at governmental level, says the Bureau for Reintegration.
The commission will analyze the latest developments in the negotiation process for the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict and the confidence-building measures between the two banks of the Nistru and will put forward a series of conclusions and recommendations. The members of the commission are expected to present sector-specific views on the reintegration policies.
The governmental commission was created in March 2011 and is meant to ensure and coordinate a single joint policy in this field among all the public authorities. It also examines proposals to create the proper conditions for the reintegration of the Transnistrian reasons in the economic, informational, political, social and cultural space of Moldova and recommends the required steps. The head of the commission is PM Valeriu Strelet and the vice-president is Deputy PM Victor Osipov.
