Europe Day will be celebrated in Moldova by a series of events that will be organized by the executive in the course of May, IPN reports. In this connection, Prime Minister Pavel Filip, in the May 3 meeting of the Cabinet, said on May 13 Europe Day will be marked alongside the EU partners in the central park of Chisinau, where there will be set up the traditional European Town. He called on all the state institutions to take part in the event.
“The organized activities are very important because our government program is based on the Association Agreement with the European Union. We manage to increase the popularity of the European Union among our people and I’m sure that if we continue at the same path, our country’s European course will become irreversible,” stated the Premier.
Europe Day is annually marked by the European community and the partner states on May 9. The day was proclaimed in memory of minister of foreign affairs of France Robert Schuman, who is considered the founder of the EU.
