The Ministry of Health is to adopt a list of “socially-oriented” basic medicines and para-pharmaceutical products that must be available for sale at drugstores across Moldova at all times, under an ordinance issued on Saturday by Prime Minister Vlad Filat, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Government said in a press release that the Ministry will also develop amendments to the pharmaceutical amendments to allow for suspension or withdrawal of licenses of those drugstores which fail to guarantee the availability of such basic drugs.
Earlier this week Info-Prim Neo reported that drugstores had ran out of Citramon tablets, a popular and cheap painkiller and anti-fever agent. Ludmila Bumacov, vice director of the Medicines Agency, said that there were supplies of the drug in the country, but they were yet to undergo routine quality procedures.
