The Government considers a judgment passed by the Râșcani branch of the Chisinau City Court on October 23, by which a Government Decision of July 31 was annulled, is unfounded and contrary to the law and intends to appeal it, IPN reports, quitting the executive’s press service.

By that decision, the Government abrogated its decision of February 27, 2019 concerning the transfer of a building situated in Odessa city of Ukraine (head office of Moldova’s Consulate) from public ownership under private ownership of the state and the signing of a contract for exchanging this building with another building in the same town city. The reason is related to the estimated price of the first building.

On January 31, this year, plaintiff Irina Rolemskaya filed a lawsuit against the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova and the Public Property Agency over the obligation to take the actions stipulated in the Government Decision concerning the transfer of a building from public ownership under private ownership of the state and the signing of an exchange contract, namely to start the administrative procedure for preparing and signing a contract for the exchange of a lot that is 0.0397 ha and a residential building that is 402.2m2, with annexes, which belong to her, with the building owned by the Republic of Moldova.

The Ministry requested to involve the Government of the Republic of Moldova in the trial because it is responsible for the management and denationalization of public property. In the hearing, the Government asked to reject the lawsuit filed by Irina Rolemskaya.
