The Government approved the bill to ratify the agreement on Moldova’s participation in the EU’s Creative Europe program, IPN reports.
The program is intended for cultural and creation organizations that work for at least two years and consists of two sub-programs: the Culture sub-program to promote the culture sector, and the MEDIA sub-program to support the audiovisual sector.
The program will support: culture sector initiatives, such as those promoting cross-border cooperation, platforms, networking, and literary translation; audiovisual sector initiatives, such as those promoting the development, distribution, or access to audiovisual works; a cross-sectoral strand, including a Guarantee Facility and transnational policy cooperation.
The Creative Europe program is managed by the European Commission and the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency of Brussels, which assesses all the projects applying for financing. At national level, the Creative Europe offices from the countries participating in the la program provide information and free technical assistance to those who want to access funds within the program.
The agreement was signed in Brussels on March 18, 2015 by Minister of Culture Monica Babuc and European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Tibor Navracsics.
