The Government on May 14 holds a series of events to mark Europe Day 2016. Thus, at the European Town in the central park of Chisinau, there will be set up the Government’s tent with information brochures about the projects implemented in different areas in Moldova with support from the European partners. The representatives of a number of ministers and other public institutions will provide information and promotional materials about the education and research opportunities and in opportunities in other development areas within the EU programs, IPN reports.
According to the Government’s press service, Prime Minister Pavel Filip and other members of the executive will take part in the official inauguration of the European Town at 1pm. On the occasion of Europe Day, the Ministry of Youth and Sport, in concert with the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Health and the Chisinau City Hal, will stage the cycling race dedicated to Europe Day starting at 9:50am. The race will cover over 20 streets and will end in Europe Square of Chisinau.
On the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the chamber choir “Rapsodia” of Chisinau will perform on the main stage of the European Town. Starting at 9am, the Lyceum of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova will host the national contest “Best innovator student Genius”. The ceremony to award the winner of this year’s contest will be held at 11:30am. This will involve the Prime Minister.
There will also be presented sketches of mural paintings that took part in the street-art contest for the best work titled “Europe Day”, which was held in Moldova for the first time. The contest is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and the Ministry of Culture, in cooperation with the Embassy of Italy, the EU Delegation to Moldova and other partners. Its goal is to promote mural arts and the young people working in this field and to renovate the urbanistic areas of the city in the style of the capitals of the EU member states.
