The Government has approved the Regulation on the organization of the National Search and Rescue System (SNCS) in case of aviation accidents, which aligns the national legislation with international standards, IPN reports.

The regulation provides for the establishment of a unitary set of rules that set out intervention procedures for relevant governmental agencies in managing emergencies related to aviation accidents and in dealing with their consequences.

The National Search-Rescue System will operate 24/7 and will incorporate alert units, such as the Air Traffic Management Service within MoldATSA, aerodrome operators, 112 Service and specialized emergency services within the Emergency Medical Assistance Service. Also, the composition will include representatives of the General Police Inspectorate and of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.
