If all the provisions of the Government’s work program are implemented, in four years Moldova could file an application for accession to the EU. It contains many attractive things and it will be excellent if it is implemented. The problem is that there is a great difference between the statements and the implementation process. Regretfully, this program bears the seal of a statement and contains not many concrete measures, the director of the Center of Strategic Research and Political Consultancy “Politicon” Anatol Taranu said in the talk show “Expert hour” on Jurnal TV channel, IPN reports.

In the same program, ex-MP Mihai Godea said the Government’s program of 2009 was better because it contained essential things that weren’t included in the current program. “In 2009, there was political support and political will. Now a minority coalition lacks from the start political support. This program brings almost nothing new compared with the other two programs. Emphasis was laid on the fight against corruption. I don’t know who will do it. The Government’s proposals concerning the safety of the state and the people are disappointing. The government principles are just sentences. In four years of government they should have become a reality,” stated Mihai Godea.

Political analyst Alexei Tulbure does not agree that the new program of the Government is just a statement. “It contains measures that cannot be found in the previous programs, especially as regards the fight against corruption as well as less effective proposals like, for example, those that refer to the decentralization of power, which is a fundamental problem. If not only this program, but also the programs of 2009 and 2013 are implemented, it will be much better. Namely Iurie Leanca in May 2013 spoke about certain priorities, specifically the fight against corruption, but we didn’t see changes during a year and a half,” he said.

Former lawmaker Valeriu Saharneanu said the Government’s program, which was made public on February 10, is a formal document showing that the government is in an uncertain situation. “We do not know if we are heading for the Europe Union or remain in the gray area. If a minority government comes, the government will be different and the Communists’ influence may lead to significant deviations from the government program,” he stated.

The program’s invitees also said that the members of the Cabinet haven’t been yet presented and this can mean that some of the portfolios haven’t been yet distributed, while candidate for premiership Iurie Leanca will find out who his new colleagues are on the day the Parliament is to give its vote of confidence, which is on February 12.
