Government pleads for strengthening commercial partnership with Turkey

Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici, in a meeting with the administration of the largest industrial conglomerate “Koç Holding” in Istanbul, underlined the importance of attracting foreign investments to Moldova’s economy, especially to agriculture, food industry, banking sector and energy sector. The managers of “Koç Holding” expressed their readiness to extend the relations, as the commercial partnership with Moldova has a promising potential, and to study the supply and demand on the Moldovan market so as to establish the areas of interest for the conglomerate, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, Chiril Gaburici expressed his conviction that following the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between Moldova and Turkey, the commercial and investment exchanges between the two states will intensify. Turkey ranks fifth in the list of Moldova’s commercial partners and tenth in the list of investing countries.

In the meeting with members of the Foreign Economic Relations Board and of the Turkey-Moldova Business Council, Chiril Gaburici said Moldova wants to develop mutually advantageous cooperation relations. The Premier also met with representatives of the Banks Association of Turkey.

According to the Licensing Chamber, there are over 1,000 companies with Turkish capital in Moldova.

Chiril Gaburici is paying a two-day visit to Turkey.
