The Republic of Moldova made progress in implementing reforms and the synchronization of the agendas of the Government and Parliament is beneficial in this regard, Speaker Andrian Candu and Prime Minister Pavel Filip said after the second joint meeting of the executive, legislature and heads of the standing commissions, IPN reports.

“Even if we didn’t expect, we have already very good results after the first meeting. In the second meeting, we ascertain special progress in implementing the Association Agreement measures that were overdue. I told the Premier that during the Parliament’s first sittings of the current session, we adopted more bills stipulated in the European integration agenda than during the autumn session,” stated Andrian Candu.

The Speaker noted that in a meeting of the Parliament’s Standing Bureau, he will suggest implementing a mechanism of cooperation between the legislature and the executive in the future. A council could be set up, but the conception will be presented next week. “The ministries started to communicate with the standing commissions and this has a useful effect. We worked out a roadmap with the measures that need to be taken by July 31,” he said.

Pavel Filip said the Government managed to approve a number of documents that were adopted by Parliament too, owing to the good synchronization between them. “We agreed to rectify some of the agendas so as to make them synchronic. A conclusion was that the cooperation will be maintained because it is productive. The agreed roadmap specifies Moldova’s medium-term commitments that are to be fulfilled by the end of the spring session. Each of the action has a time limit,” stated the Premier.

The executive so far carried out 50% of the measures included earlier in a reform implementation schedule.
