As many as 500 spelling books “Albinuta”, written by Grigore Vieru, were transmitted by the Government of the Republic of Moldova through the Bureau for Diaspora Relations fto children from the diaspora, who were born abroad. This way the Moldovan authorities encourage children from the diaspora to study the language of the country of origin of their parents and to thus develop emotional ties with the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports, with reference to the Government’s press service.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip transmitted a message for the preschool children on the book sign: “Dear child, study and you will have a better life, persevere on the path of knowledge so that the Republic of Moldova, the country of your parents and your country is proud of you!”.
The books intended for children of preschool age are distributed through the agency of embassies and consulates that deal with papers for Moldovan nationality. The books were sent to 30 countries, mainly to Russia, Italy, Ukraine, Canada, France, Portugal, Romania, Spain, the U.S., and Kazakhstan.
