The Cabinet is launching negotiations on an addendum to a financing agreement with the European Union extending financing under the Sector Policy Support Program: Economic Stimulation in Rural Areas, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Finance Minister Veaceslav Negruta said the negotiations will include the request to supplement the initial amount of 42 million with another 14 million euros. The financing will be requested under the EU's “more for more” principle.
At its latest meeting, the Cabinet also approved the Bill on the ratification of a financing agreement with the World Bank's International Development Association for $30 million under the Competitiveness Enhancement Program
Minister Negruta said obtaining this financing was possible due to the fulfillment of Moldova's commitments and the adoption of key legislation, including on state inspection, competition, state aid, and electronic payment services.
Prime Minister Vlad Filat highlighted the need for the agreement to be signed as soon as possible by Parliament so that the funds reach Moldova without delay.
