Government names winners of autumn ploughing contest

The Government has named the winners of this year’s autumn ploughing contest. The 6 most successful districts will be awarded diplomas and money prizes from the Government’s Reserve Fund. The winning districts in the first group (by size of arable land) are Edinet – First Prize and 70,000 lei; Stefan Voda – Second Prize and 40,000 lei; and Rascani – Third Prize and 40,000 lei. In the second group of districts, the Government will reward Briceni with the First Prize and 60,000 lei, and Taraclia with the Second Prize and 40,000 lei. Ocnita is the only winning district in the third group, obtaining the First Prize and 50,000 lei. The spending of the money awarded to the winning districts will be made following proposals by local commissions, under a regulation on government prizes. The Ministry of Finance was charged to distribute the money prizes.
