The Government is launching public consultations for the draft Moldova 2030 National Development Strategy. It is the long-term national document that describes the country’s development directions and that adapts the priorities, objectives, indicators and targets of the international commitments assumed by the Republic of Moldova to the national context.
The urgency of a strategic document is dictated by the new economic, social and security realities affecting the Republic of Moldova, as well as the entire region or even the world. The COVID-19 pandemic, the energy crisis, accelerated price increases, recurrent droughts and floods, economic crises and, more recently, the security crisis caused by the Russian Federation’s military invasion of Ukraine – all highlight the importance of a planning document that contributes both to a better adaptation to the new realities, as well as to increase the development process by capitalizing on opportunities and actively preventing risks, the Government stated in a press release.
The document makes a direct connection between welfare aspirations, on the one hand, and policies that will contribute to these goals, on the other. The strategy will guide the assistance of development partners of the Republic of Moldova in relation to national development priorities and will ensure better coordination of projects and available resources. Another goal of the strategy will be to mobilize representatives of civil society and the scientific community to strengthen their combined efforts for priority sectors and areas that ensure the quality of life.
Proposals and recommendations for the draft Moldova 2030 National Development Strategy can be submitted until August 15, 2022 to the email address: chancelleria@gov.md.
