The Government has approved the negotiation of an administrative arrangement for the implementation of the Social Security Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and Belarus, IPN reports.

The arrangement is a secondary document that specifies the methods of implementing the agreement and ensuring cooperation between the sides.

Through this arrangement, the States undertake to provide the persons with the right to a pension, even if they have not achieved on their own territory the minimum insurance period required to calculate the pension (15 years in the Republic of Moldova), but met this condition when totaling the insurance periods in both states.

The national legislation will be applied when setting and calculating the pension. This will be paid only for insurance periods on the own territory based on the principle of proportionality.

Similar agreements have been signed with the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and with 13 EU member states.
