The Government is preparing a letter aimed at keeping Moldova in the international insurance system Green Card, Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet announced after the August 12 meeting of the Cabinet, IPN reports.
Given the impossibility of the National Bureau of Motor Insurers to submit the external financial guarantee needed to issue Green Card insurance, Valeriu Strelet said that in December 2014 – February 2015 this institution was managed by intermediaries that caused damage to the value of 17 million lei to it and this led to the impossibility of fulfilling the financial obligations to the international fund. There were a number of warnings and Moldova, in extremis, honored these obligations. There are yet a number of cases such as accident staging on Moldova’s territory involving Green Card insurance issued abroad.
The Premier assured that a letter by which the Government pledges to take measures to stabilize the situation could influence the decision of the Council of Bureaux of the Green Card System so that Moldova remains in the system.
