Prime Minister Pavel Filip said that agriculture is a priority sector for the country and the constant dialogue between the central authorities and the associations of agricultural producers is necessary for having a complex view and for acting in concert so as to solve the existing problems. In a meeting with agricultural producers centering on agricultural development policies, the Premier confirmed the Government’s determination to help the farmers cope with the difficulties, IPN reports.
According to the executive’s press service, the adjustment of the legal framework for developing and supporting businesses in this sector and the financial support provided from the agriculture subsidization fund were among the discussed subjects. “The reformation of this sector will go on through the roadmap too because its implementation will enable us to obtain support from the external partners, including local development funds,” stated Pavel Filip.
Among the problems mentioned in the meeting were the irrigation of crops, unfair competition on the domestic market, the need to involve the competent institutions in studying and developing new sorts of fruit and vegetables and the bureaucratic system of the responsible authorities.
Pavel Filip ordered constituting a working group of representatives of the central public authorities and of associations of agricultural producers so as to identify and solve the problems in the field and create a favorable environment for developing the agrifood industry.
