The Ministry of Finance will allocate 3 million lei from the Government’s reserve fund to the Material Reserves Agency for logistic costs associated with the receipt and distribution of 6,000 tonnes of diesel fuel donated by Romania, IPN reports.
The Material Reserves Agency of the Ministry of Home Affairs is empowered to receive, store, monitor and distribute the diesel fuel, Minister of Home Affairs Pavel Voicu stated in the March 11 meeting of the outgoing Cabinet.
“In the name of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, I sincerely thank the Government of Romania for the gesture to offer us 6,000 tonnes of diesel fuel free of charge. Our task is to better organize the logistic process of receiving, storing and later distributing the diesel fuel that is awaited by the farmers affected by last year’s drought,” said acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, through the Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture, will decide the quantity of diesel fuel for each producer asking for humanitarian aid, based on the submitted applications, and will present the list of eligible farmers by districts to the interdepartmental commission for humanitarian aid.
