Government asks Poland for a loan worth USD 15 mln

The Government of Moldova to start negotiations with the Government of Poland over the draft of the Agreement on granting a technical loan amounting to USD 15 mln.
The money will be used for financing several investment projects in environment and water supply system. The total cost of the project was estimated at USD 16.6 mln, and 10% of contract’s value will be paid by the settlements which will benefit from the money.
The project includes constructing connection pipes from Soroca-Balti aqueduct of the towns Sangerei, Telenesti, Drochia, Rascani, Floresti; changing the old pipes of the local water supply network, modernising the wastewater treatment plant in the supply system Soroca-Balti; constructing a hydro-electric mini-plant on Raut river, near Trebujeni village.
The reimbursement of the loan will be performed within 20 year, with a grace period of two year. The interest collected from the credit of USD 15 mln will constitute 1.4% annually.
