The European Commission will offer a €105 million grant to Moldova to support measures for mitigating the socio-economic impact of higher energy prices. The funding is also expected to increase the state’s capacity to provide services to vulnerable groups and support efforts to ensure energy security in Moldova.

On Tuesday, the Government formally initiated negotiations on the second amendment to the State Consolidation and Resilience Agreement concluded between Moldova and the European Commission in December 2021.

Taking the total budget of the assistance program to €240 million, this additional €105 million grant will be disbursed in two installments until the end of 2023.
