The Cabinet has formulated the mechanism for reporting and monitoring corruption in public institutions and approved the regulations concerning this system on Wednesday, December 17, Info-Prim Neo reports. The regulations stipulate the participants in the reporting procedure, which are: the monitored institutions, the monitor (a scientific institution, sociological agency or a specialized NGO) selected according to the principles provided in the law on public acquisitions, civil servants and ordinary people. The reporting procedure will be internal and external and will include the completion of anonymous reporting forms by employees of the institution or by persons that benefit from its services. Anonymity is guaranteed. According to the regulations, there will be printed reporting forms and placed special boxes inside the given institution and in its yard or other public places. The implementation of the regulations will cost an estimated 90,000 lei. The document will be implemented in two stages: since 2009 at the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crimes and since 2010 in other institutions of the central public administration. The monitoring results will be used to work out plans for combating corruption in the monitored institutions and in other institutions of the public administration.
