The Cabinet on May 31 approved the plan of action for 2016-2020 for implementing the child protection strategy. The planned actions are aimed at preventing the separation from the family and institutionalization of children, at preventing and combating violence and at promoting a framework for reconciling family life and professional activity for ensuring the harmonious development of the child, IPN reports.
For the purpose, specialized subdivisions will be created within the local social assistance offices. There will be implemented IT modules centering on child protection so as to ensure the better management of each case and more efficient monitoring of the tutelage activity.
The normative framework will be improved to prevent and combat corruption in the adoption process and in the provision of social benefits to children who remained without parental care and families with children, to organize inclusive education and specialized support services for children with special educational needs.
The plan of action is expected to reduce the number of institutionalized children and the risks associated with migrant families, to ensure a family and social environment appropriate for the harmonious development of children.
