Government approves Independence Day program of activities

The 20th anniversary of the proclamation of Moldova’s independence will be marked by a number of conferences, exhibitions, festive meetings and concerts. The program of activities was approved by the executive on May 25, Info-Prim Neo reports. The program will open with laying of flowers and a military parade. A concert will follow, involving national singers and artistic groups. There will be fireworks in the evening. On the occasion of the anniversary, there will be broadcast a documentary and videos about the most important cultural, historical and architectural monuments of Moldova. There will be also made a commemorative coin and envelopes with fixed stamp as well as an album of thematic stamps dedicated to the event. The program also includes scientific-historical conferences that will take place until August 27 and on the Independence Day. There will be staged exhibitions and fairs of tourism products titled “Discover Moldova”. The Hour of the Independence Day will be held in all the education institutions. Minister of Culture Boris Focsa said the events will be organized in concert with the central and local public authorities. The activities will be financed from the 2011 state budget.
