Government announces three key objectives for first 100 days

Three key objectives of the governmental team are: to create workplaces, to fight corruption, and to accelerate the European integration process, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca Wednesday said in a press briefing where he announced the Cabinet’s objectives for the first 100 days in office, IPN reports. “When the people have a high-paying job and comfort, their future in Moldova is ensured,” said the Premier.

Over the next three months, there will be rehabilitated 130 km of roads. Over 500 people were already involved in the repair works and more persons will be engaged. “There will be signed new agreements with the partners EBRD and EIB so that works to repair another 370 km of road can be started in 2014. This will enable to create 2,000 new jobs. We will also focus on the development of the private sector. There will be set up new small and medium-sized companies by different programs whose beneficiaries will be able to start or extend their businesses,” said the official.

As to agriculture, Iurie Leanca said subsidies of 150 million lei will be portioned out. This will result in additional investments and, consequently, in the creation of an estimated 5,000 new workplaces in rural areas. In the period, there will be initiated the construction of the Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeline and new jobs will be thus created.

In order to fight corruption, the process of implementing e-governance will be continued. There will be provided new public services that the people will be able to access online. This way, the influence of the subjective factor in the relations with the state institutions will be reduced. During the first 100 days, there will be launched the system of electronic payments for public utilities, which will contribute to the diminution of the prices of services and of the queues at public institutions. The justice sector sand law enforcement bodies reform remains a priority.

As regards the European integration process, the Premier said that at the June 25 Luxemburg meeting of the Moldova - EU Cooperation Council, Moldova is to inform about the completion of the negotiations for initialing the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement that is a component part of the Association Agreement.
