The Government has allocated about 189.6 mln lei from the general state budget revenues for raising salaries in the budgetary sector, with effect from April 1, July 1 and September 1, 2007. The money will be provided in addition to the 150 mln lei allocated for the same purpose through the Government Decision of August 3, 2007. The initial allotment covered only a part of the expenses related to the rise in salaries carried out on April 1, 2007. The authorities committed themselves to distributing the resources without delay. The Ministry of Economy and Trade promised that by the end of 2007 the salaries of workers and auxiliary personnel will be increased by 25%, of medical and social assistance personnel – by over 30%, of scientific researchers – by 22%, of people of culture – by over 40%.
