The Government has allocated an extra 9.5 million lei from the reserve fund for the “First House” Program. The money will go to finance the compensations provided by the state within this program as the allocations approved for 2021 have been used, while the number of beneficiaries has grown, IPN reports.
Tatiana Ivanichkina, secretary of state at the Ministry of Finance, said that 18.8 million lei of the sum of 20 million lei approved for 2021 had been used during the first six months. The new amount will help reduce the risk of activating state guarantees and the allocation of budget funds for making payments to the banks involved in the program, which can be recovered only after the commercial banks sell the mortgaged property. The procedure is long and can lead to the temporary blocking of the financial resources that can be used to finance additional costs.
