The Government on Thursday adopted the 2017-2022 National Program on Inclusion of People with Disabilities, and an Action Plan to implement it, IPN reports.
Through these documents the authorities aim to enhance social protection measures for persons with special needs, facilitate access to infrastructure and communication, provide high-quality medical care, promote inclusive education for children, and increase the employment of people with disabilities.
The cost of the Program for its entire duration is estimated at 9 million lei.
There are about 181,000 people with disabilities, including 12,000 children, in Moldova.
