Officers of the Leuseni-Albita customs post prevented a Moldovan from smuggling a mini-tractor into the country. They also established that another Moldovan intentionally diminished the value of several solar panels, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Customs Service, a minibus returning from Romania was subject to an ordinary check at the customs. Besides the personal belongings and domestic appliances indicated in the customs declaration, the customs officers identified an undeclared mini-tractor and a number of used spare parts for motor bicycle. They belonged to a Moldovan national travelling in the minibus.
In the customs declaration of another Moldovan, the value of four solar panels was diminished significantly so as to avoid paying customs duties. The undeclared and non-authentically declared goods were valued at about 120,000 lei.
The merchandise was seized so as to determine its exact value, while the culprits will be penalized in accordance with the law.
