According to the deputy chief sanitary doctor of Chisinau Nicolae Furtuna, a good shower washes away all microbes, Info-Prim Neo reports. Nicolae Furtuna made the statement at a meeting of the Chisinau City Hall officials. Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca expressed his surprise, asking the doctor to explain how the microbes can be washed away and to inform the population. Galina Leahu, deputy head of the Green Areas Association, said all the beaches in Chisinau have shower huts that use chlorinated water. They will work throughout the summer season. Leahu said the no swimming signs are ready and will be soon set up. The vibrio cholerae and other dangerous bacteria were detected in most of the lakes in Chisinau. The lakes have not been cleaned for about 20 years owing to a shortage of funds. A lake is cleaned at a cost of 100,000 lei. The sand can also become a source of infection if it is not changed.
