Almost 70 companies with national and foreign capital registered in Moldova competed in the eighth Trademark of the Year contest, which is organized by the Chamber of Trade and Industry. The results of the contest are traditionally announced during the exhibition “Made in Moldova”, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Chamber’s chairman Gheorghe Cucu said that 86 of the most successful projects to create and develop trademarks have been presented this year. The contest includes seven divisions: Reputation and Trust, Consumer’s Appreciation, Profile, Inter, Socially Responsible Trademark, Export Trademark, and Rebranding. The last division was included in the contest for the first time.
The prizes included the Top Prize – the Golden Mercury (the Roman God of Trade), and gold and silver medals.
SA ICAM is one of the 15 trademarks that were awarded the Golden Mercury in the Reputation and Trust division. Valentina Costea, the furniture company’s vice director, said ICAM is marking 66 years of work. “The prize makes us to improve the quality and design of our products, to launch new competitive products. Last year, we launched a new set of furniture for preschool children. We managed to keep all the workplaces in the period of crisis. We even offered the employees a more varied social package,” she stated.
Vitalie Harti, director of the wining trademark SRL Harvit, said the company makes over 100 kinds of sausages and meat products for all the tastes and all the groups of people, including people on low incomes. He said that the contest helps to promote the new trademarks.
The results of the contest were made public by the organizational committee that consists of scientists and specialists in marketing, publicity and intellectual property.
