Three people suspected of desecrating graves have been detained in the north of the country. They are suspected of digging at the foundations of graves in cemeteries in the Riscani, Edinet and Otaci districts, from where they were stealing gold objects from coffins, IPN reports.
According to the General Inspectorate of Police, the suspects, a 31-year-old woman and two men aged 33 and 38, desecrated seven graves in several cemeteries in the northern districts between January 1-13 this year.
The three are under criminal investigation for theft and desecration of graves.
