The Moldovan boxer, Veaceslav Gojan, was defeated in the semi-finals by the Mongol Badar-Uganu Enhebat, thus being eliminated from the race for gold or silver. The efforts and instructions of coach Petru Caduc, durign the whole match, proved powerless in front of the Mongol pugilist, who boxed splendidly,managing to knee his opponent with a general score of 15-2.
Veaceslav Gojan will get the bronze what will place Moldova from the 85th to the 74th position in the nations' classifications. Gojan's bronze medal is the only Olympic laurel brought by a Moldovan doe the last 8 years.
