The residents of Goianul Nou village that forms part of Stauceni town will be supplied with running water of a high quality. The new water pipe was put into operation in the village on May 4, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Until now, the water used by the villagers was extracted from an artesian well and did not meet the quality parameters. “The content of iron was two times higher than the norm, while of hydrogen sulphide – over 20 times higher. Now the residents of the village will drink clean water,” said the director of SA Apa-Canal Chisinau Constantin Becciev.
“The water pipe in Goienii Noi village was constructed through the effort made by the administration of Apa-Canal Chisinau,” said Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca. “Four years ago, the company was on the verge of bankruptcy. Now it is able to invest in the development of water supply and sewerage systems. This shows that the municipal companies and the municipality of Chisinau in general develop and overcome the difficult stages.”
The water pipe that is 4 km long and the sewerage pipe that is 670 meters long were built at a cost of 2 million lei. Half of the project was financed by the Social Investment Fund of Moldova, while the other half by SA Apa-Canal Chisinau.
Goianul Nou is the 30th village where Apa-Canal Chisinau provides water supply and sewerage services. The village has about 300 households and over 700 residents. 250 households are connected to the water supply and sewerage system.
