The head of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu sees two possible scenarios for solving the crisis that hit the Alliance for European Integration: Vlad Filat and Vlad Plahotnciuc should stop the war and the settling of accounts or should resign both, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Given the current situation in the alliance, I put forward two proposals: they should stop the war and the settling of accounts or should resign, both of the Vlads,” Mihai Ghimpu told a news conference on Wednesday. He said that the alliance will not die without Prime Minister Vlad Filat or without First Deputy Parliament Speaker Vlad Plahotnciuc. “There are people in the PLDM who can be Prime Ministers and the PDM has members who can become First Deputy Heads of Parliament,” stated Mihai Ghimpu. The Liberal leader also said that when the AEI 2 was formed, everyone knew that the PDM carried out talks with the PCRM. It was known who Vlad Plahotniuc, Vlad Filat, Mihai Ghimpu or Marian Lupu were. “We knew that a day will come when the war will start again. We don’t know who is more powerful – one Vladuts or the other. Separately, we represent nothing. Only together we are state functionaries with whom Europe, the United States and the whole world discusses. Neither Plahotnciuc nor Filat are sacred cows,” said Mihai Ghimpu. According to him, it is naivety to believe that the AEI will survive this war. In the last meeting of the alliance, the leaders agreed to meet again after the January 21 sitting of Parliament, but they didn’t. The Liberal-Democratic MPs didn’t come to the January 22 sitting of the legislature. The January 22 extraordinary sitting of the legislative body was called by Marian Lupu at the request of 34 Communist MPs. The Liberal-Democratic MPs didn’t go to the sitting, arguing it was convened with deviations from the legislation. The Communist lawmakers left the assembly hall because the discharge of First Deputy Speaker Vlad Plahotniuc wasn’t included in the agenda, as they requested. Marian Lupu said the Lib-Dems and the Communists intended to conclude a secret agreement of cooperation so as to obtain Vlad Plahotniuc’s dismissal, but they didn’t have time to negotiate it.
