The Leader of “Patria-Rodina” Labor Union, Gheorghe Sima, affirms that in the near future, the representatives of several opposition parties, but also economical agents, will create a National commission for estimating the value of the assets privatized by the President’s family but especially by his children.
In a press-conference summoned after he was handed the accusation for the illicit privatization of a semi-basement situated on the Columna str. of the capital, Gheorghe Sima declared that president’s son, Oleg Voronin, should explain the legality of the privatization of the Sugar Factory from Briceni, of all the subsidiaries of the „Fincombank” bank, as well as of many other assets.
Sima declared this in the context in which he and his political formation are accused of the privatization of the semi-basement, effectuated in 2000 following all the legal procedures. According to the cited source, a commission of the Municipal Department of Privatization effectuated, at that moment, all the inspections needed and allowed that 30% from the expenses for the capital repairs of the residence cover a part of the cost of the semi-basement. This was the fact that aroused the particular interest of the Center for Combating Economic Crime and Corruption (CCCEC) claiming that Sima and his party caused damages to the state of MDL 38,000, the sum which constitutes those 30% of the repairs cost, introduced in the documents of privatization. More than that, although penal investigations began on September 22, the cited source affirms that he found out about it only on September 26, being taken the possibility to attack it in time at the court.
Gheorghe Sima asserts that the penal case which sued him at law, as well as the arrest of Eduard Musuc take place at the direct indication of Vladimir Voronin having the aim of “cleaning the electoral field before elections”. As he mentions, the communist government is sure that it won’t accumulate the number of votes it had at the past polls, so it is trying to get rid of the leaders of opposition parties now.
